  • Facundo Pellistri joined Man Utd in 2020
  • He is yet to play for Man Utd's first team
  • Pellistri played for Alaves last two seasons on loan

Manchester United forward Facundo Pellistri is reportedly not a part of new boss Erik ten Hag's plans and is going to be sent on loan again.

Pellistri has a contract with Manchester United until 2025 but he has not played for their first team yet. The 20-year-old Uruguayan forward moved from Pearol to Manchester United in 2020 and was immediately loaned off to La Liga side Deportivo Alavés.

The young forward was unhappy at Alaves and therefore, his next destination will be either Italy or Portugal, ESPN reported.

Across two seasons at Alaves, Pellistri made 35 appearances for the Spanish club but failed to score a single goal or provide an assist. Out of the 38 La Liga matches last season, Alaves played only in 21, out of which, the forward started in only six. In fact, in the second half of the 2021-22 campaign, Pellistri did not start a single La Liga game for Alaves.

"I didn't leave Alaves very happy, because I hardly played in any games. I left with a wonderful club, a wonderful group of people, a wonderful medical team, and a wonderful staff. In that sense, even though it was complicated in terms of football, that whole period in Vitoria was wonderful. They never gave me a reason, but well? Every manager is different. Maybe they liked different things to what I could give them, and that's totally respectable," Pellistri said in a recent interview, according to Teamtalk.

"It's up to the coach to decide. I always gave my best, I trained 100%, and I was ready to play. The balance is negative. I would have liked to play more," he added.

Pellistri is currently with Manchester United at their pre-season camp. The Uruguayan player also scored in the Red Devils' 4-0 victory over Liverpool in Bangkok last week. However, he was not picked for their next two friendlies, which were against Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace, giving out a clear indication that the right winger is not in Ten Hag's plans for the upcoming campaign.

Manchester United already have Jadon Sancho, Amad Diallo and Anthony Elanga at the right-wing spot. Sancho, in particular, has had an impressive pre-season and is expected to seal his place in Ten Hag's starting XI for the 2022-23 season.

The Old Trafford side is looking to bolster their squad ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, especially after not winning any title last term.
