  • Dortmund reportedly have given Man Utd an Aug. 10 deadline to sign Sancho
  • Dortmund have labeled Sancho with a price of $112 million
  • The midfielder has scored 20 goals this season in 44 games

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly set Aug. 10 as the deadline for Manchester United to sign their top target Jadon Sancho.

While Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke earlier said that Sancho has shown no internet in leaving the German club, a report in British media outlet Mirror has disclosed that the 20-year-old midfielder is keen on uniting with fellow attackers Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood at Man Utd, a side that looks promising ahead of the 2020-21 season.

Certainly, Man Utd will not have any problems in agreeing on personal terms with Sancho but the hindrance will be the player’s transfer fee. Previously, it was reported that Dortmund had increased Sancho’s transfer fee from $124 million to $146 million. However, the Mirror report has stated that Dortmund have brought down Sancho’s price to $112 million but that is still not cheap considering how all the soccer clubs have been financially hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

The German team has already made it clear that no club will receive a “coronavirus discount” in Sancho’s transfer.

Even though the three-month coronavirus break in soccer has extended the summer transfer window, Dortmund have decided to not prolong with Sancho’s transfer saga. The Bundesliga side is heading for a training camp to Switzerland on Aug. 10 and wants any deal for the talented player done by then.

Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has never been reluctant in admitting that the Red Devils have made Sancho’s transfer their top priority this summer. Solskjaer is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2020-21 season.

However, Man Utd have to bag a Champions League spot for the next campaign to stand a chance to sign Sancho. They can do that by finishing in the top four in the Premier League or by winning the Europa League. As of now, they are placed fifth in the Premier League table and alive in the Europa tournament as well.

Sancho, who made his senior team debut with Dortmund in 2017, has scored 20 goals this season in as many as 44 appearances across tournaments. He has overall scored 34 goals in 99 first-team games for Dortmund since his debut season of 2017-18.
