  • Mo Salah has scored five goals against them in two games
  • The Reds have 76 points from 31 games in the league

Manchester United have registered an unwanted record in the Premier League with their latest 4-0 defeat to Liverpool FC.

The Reds defeated Ralf Rangnick's Manchester United 5-0 at Old Trafford earlier in the ongoing Premier League season.

Overall, Harry Maguire and Co. have lost 9-0 to Liverpool in the 2021-22 league campaign. This is their heaviest defeat against a single opponent in a Premier League season. Overall in the English top-flight, they had suffered a combined heavier defeat once – 0-11 vs Sunderland in 1892-93, Goal reported.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring at Anfield on Tuesday before Mohamed Salah doubled the hosts' lead in the 22nd minute. That brought the Egyptian King's seven-game goalless streak to an end. Sadio Mane scored Liverpool's third in the second half before Salah made it 4-0 for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

Salah, who had scored a hat-trick in the Old Trafford leg, bagged a special record after scoring a brace at Anfield. The Egyptian forward has become the first-ever player in Premier League history to score five goals against Manchester United in a single season. In addition, Salah is only the second player to both score and assist in home and away games against Manchester United in a Premier League season, after Mesut Ozil in 2015-16, according to Opta Joe.

With the two goals, Salah has taken his goals tally to an incredible 30 in 42 competitive appearances in the 2021-22 campaign. He has also provided 12 assists.
