  • Manchester United is expected to make a move for Erling Haaland next summer
  • Borussia Dortmund isn't bothered by rumors linking Haaland to an exit
  • The Norwegian wants to stay with the Bundesliga side for now

Despite already having signed Jadon Sancho, Manchester United is still expected to make another move for Erling Haaland.

A certain change in the look of Manchester United’s attack will be seen in the upcoming season with Sancho already on board.

While it has become apparent that the Red Devils are unlikely to sign the winger’s former co-star Haaland, famed transfer insider Dean Jones bared that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will take its chances on landing the striker again “next summer.”

“It hasn’t quite come through as far as Chelsea hoped it would by now, I think it would be fair to say,” Jones said of Haaland’s situation on “The Football Terrace.” “Borussia Dortmund will be closing the door at the end of the week because they need to focus on the new season. Erling Haaland knows that he has so many options open to him next summer. Man United, by the way, are becoming quite excited by all this – the fact that Haaland might still be on the market next summer.”

“Let’s see how that one grows if he [Haaland] is still at Dortmund because they want to be in that conversation massively."

Prior to Jones’ update, Chelsea was heavily favored to sign Haaland. However, an earlier report said that the Blues have failed to launch a concrete bid for the Norwegian with the new season already approaching.

As for Borussia Dortmund, the club is positive Haaland isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

“Will [Erling] Haaland stay this summer? Yes,” Borussia Dortmund’s head of first-team football Sebastian Kehl stated. “In the discussions with [Haaland’s agent Mino] Raiola for [Donyell] Malen, I did not have the feeling we have to meet again about Haaland. We don’t want to give him up.”

Haaland, on the other hand, seems to be unaware of what is being talked about regarding his situation.

However, he insisted that he has been “enjoying” his time with the Bundesliga side.

"Before yesterday I haven't spoken with my agent for one month,” Haaland explained. So you have the answer. I hope it’s only rumors because it’s a lot of money for a person."

"First of all, I have three years left on my contract. I’m enjoying my time here. But of course, the trophy (last season's German Cup) was important because that's what I want.”

Haaland quickly emerged as one of the best young talents in the sport and is now being tracked by an array of big-name clubs.

It appears that Manchester United really presents a strong case in landing him, given his former Borussia Dortmund attacking partner Sancho is already a Red Devil and his seemingly strong ties with his compatriot Solskjaer.
