Premier League heavyweights Manchester United are looking to prepare a summer bid for fellow premiership team Bolton Wanderers’ English midfielder Mark Davies and lure him to the Old Trafford, according to latest reports.

Previously, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was attracted by the Englishman and had also considered making a move for the player, but the deal never materialized. Now the boss has revived his interest in the Bolton man once again and will look for a successful deal.

Ferguson, according to a Tribal Football report, has been tracking Davies since he quit Wolves to join Bolton two years ago. The boss had even appointed Paul Scholes to make regular checks on him.

Later, the club had sent chief scout Martin Ferguson to see Davies in action when Bolton played Swansea City earlier. Bolton boss Owen Coyle has compared Davies to legendary player Paul Gascoigne.

Davies, who arrived at Bolton from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2009 on a four-and-a-half-year contract, has made more than 80 appearances for the Trotters so far.
