The recent matchup Manchester United had against Sevilla resulted in a 1-2 defeat for the Red Devils, eliminating them from proceeding to the Europa League Finals. One of the main highlights of the match was a heated argument between star Bruno Fernandes and Victor Lindelof.

It came during an on-field altercation between the two, as the Sevilla offense was able to cause visible frustration from the Manchester United players.

It was a tough loss for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the rest of the club, despite starting off well care of a Fernandes penalty in the ninth minute. This however wasn’t enough as Sevilla immediately rallied back care of a Suso goal. With the momentum on Sevilla’s side, Luuk De Jong took advantage of the situation by delivering the winning blow during the 78th minute.

After the match, Fernandes clarified that his altercation was normal in such a high-stakes game. The Portuguese emphasized that it shouldn’t be something to make a big deal about.

"It's normal when you concede. It's not about me or Victor. What happened between me and Victor is normal," Fernandes shared by way of Goal.com.

These disagreements occasionally happen on the pitch especially at the elite level of play of these teams.

"It will happen many more times in football. We need to see the mistakes everybody did and improve," Fernandes continued.

Although Manchester United played in a strong overall pace in their recent loss, it was still a lesson to be learned for the squad.

"More than a positive start. We played a great game and created a lot of chances. But in football it's not enough - we missed a lot in front of goal," Fernandes added.

Looking back at the opportunities of the game, it’s important for Manchester United to bounce back and adjust for the future games to come.

"We are not satisfied about this because we wanted to go through. Now it's time to rest and refresh the legs. Their keeper did very well, but the quality we have we should have scored," Fernandes concluded.

With Manchester United continuing to improve with the revitalized energy of Paul Pogba and Fernandes leading the charge, the club is aiming to develop for years to come. Despite coming up short in this year's Europa League, the maturity of Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford are good signs to look forward to. Amidst the difficult loss, Manchester United is still looking to get better in months to come.
