  • Many believe Pacquiao wants to shut his political bashers up by graduating from Harvard
  • A Philippine senator revealed why Pacquiao really wants to continue studying

Manny Pacquiao has revealed why he is eager to pursue his graduate studies at Harvard University.

In the Philippines, Pacquiao isn’t only a hero inside the boxing ring. He is also a public servant who has proven that sports and politics are possible to be taken on at the same time. And as he vows to prolong his service for his home country, the legendary boxer plans to equip himself academically by furthering his knowledge at the prestigious Harvard University.

According to Philboxing.com, Pacquiao is all-in in his preparation for the upcoming Philippine presidential race in 2022. Pacquiao reportedly embarks on another life-changing challenge – to pursue graduate studies in public administration at Harvard in the U.S.

Pacquiao seems serious about his plan. In fact, he has recently graduated with a degree in political science at the University of Makati in Philippines. Due to his insane schedule as a pro boxer and as a politician, it took Pacquiao quite a long time to finish the said course.

Many believe that Pacquiao is trying to address public criticism about his lack of credentials in his pursuit of the highest post in government. And apparently, the boxing legend is positive that a college diploma and a graduate degree from the world’s top university would be enough to convince and silence his political bashers.

Pacquiao has yet to issue an official statement about his plan but another Philippine Senator “Koko” Pimentel, who is likewise completing his six-year term in 2022, stated that he will join Pacquiao at Harvard.

Pimentel is a lawyer and a former senate president but just like Pacquiao, he is also eager to pursue a graduate course in public administration.

“We (Pacquiao and me) have already talked about it. We like to take masters degree abroad that’s why we are already arranging our schedule,” Pimentel said in a radio interview.

More importantly, Pimentel revealed that Pacquiao told him that he is enjoying studying and this has been the only confirmed reason why the Filipino legend wants to study at Harvard.

“He (Pacquiao) told me studying is fun, I told him ‘I miss studying too,’ that’s why I’ll join him (at Harvard),” Pimentel revealed.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao is still the name to beat in boxing. One of the most recent Pacquiao call-outs came from Danny Garcia. In a recent interview, Garcia, together with his father Angel, called out Pacquiao once again and sends a simple yet firm message.

“Let’s get it on Manny!” Garcia said when asked about his message for Pacquiao.
