So you want to watch the NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament from your cubicle for free?

In years past it was as easy as jumping on the March Madness On Demand streams and away you went. This year, March Madness On Demand has been rebranded March Madness Live and it comes with a $3.99 fee.

If you are a cable subscriber, you can enter your account number and will be given access to the streams for free. But perhaps you are a college student (many of whom don't subscribe to cable). Maybe you are one of the more tech savvy individuals that have dumped cable for a combination of Hulu, Netflix, Apple TV and other streaming products.

If you don't have cable, and don't want to pay $3.99, fear not, there is still a solution.

Coke Zero is offering free access to the March Madness Live streams simply by signing up to receive their text alerts. To sign up, text 0+yourfavoriteteam, to 2653, for instance 0kansas, 0syracuse, or in my case 0northeastern, (stop snickering).

The system will reply with a text message that will give you a code that can be entered at www.ncaa.com/cokezero, and voila, free NCAA basketball.

Fair warning: sending the text message will subscribe you to a number of text alerts from Coke, but you can opt out of those by replying to the initial message.

Enjoy the tournament.
