At Tuesday night’s 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards, the city of Philadelphia was well represented when a cypher featuring a number of Philly rappers including Beanie Sigel was aired. Along with Sigel, the cypher featured Freeway, Peedie Crakk, Omilio Sparks and Neef Buck — all members of the hip-hop collective State Property.

While the cypher was a success, according to rapper Meek Mill, it was his idea for Philly to be represented. Meek took to Instagram to make his claim and voicing his displeasure with the fact that Sigel — a man he now has beef with — was included in the cypher.

“By the way… I’m the one who pitched a Philly cypher and getting Philly more involved with @bet,” Meek wrote. “Alley-ooping a n---- that’s throwing shade but still catching blessings!”

Although Sigel originally chose Meek’s side during his feud with The Game, Sigel’s recent comments about ghostwriting and Nicki Minaj landed him on Meek’s bad side. During a podcast interview with Taxstone, Sigel claimed that Drake sleeping with Minaj was the reason for Meek and Drake’s beef.

“What’s the real why [Meek] was mad at Drake?” asked Sigel. “In my point of view? You was laying in the bed one night, you rolled over and you looked at her and you her, ‘You f--- [Drake]?’ And she ain’t answer you in the way you wanted to.”

Earlier this week, Beanie Sigel also teased a new diss record. While the rapper didn’t mention any names, in the song he can be heard saying: “Somebody gotta die / This guy, this guy / Even when somebody mama throwin’ a fish fry / Bigger the beef, bigger the clip size.”
