  • Meghan King admitted that she was a love addict, and she enjoyed the security aspect of her relationships
  • The Bravo star said that she had been looking for stability and a partner, and she got it all wrong
  • King, who had been married thrice, said only her second marriage was real, and she felt like she was only married once

Meghan King got candid about what attracted her to married life after walking down the aisle three times.

The "Real Housewives of Orange County" star appeared on Thursday's episode of "SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live." During her guesting, she agreed with radio host Jeff Lewis, 52, that she was kind of a "love addict." She admitted that she loved the security she found in relationships. However, after three weddings, she realized she got it wrong.

"I love falling in love, but you know what I like more than falling in love? I like the stable part. Like the honeymoon phase is great and everything, but I really just want stability and I want a partner," King was quoted by Us Weekly as saying. "And so that’s what I’m looking for over and over and over and I’m getting it wrong. So something is off."

The reality star was previously married to Brad McDill, her college sweetheart. They were married for four years and split in 2011. She married for the second time in October 2014 when she tied the knot with Jim Edmonds, 51. However, they split after five years and finalized their divorce in May 2021.

King married her third husband, Cuffe Owens, in October 2021, just a month after they met on a dating app. President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, attended their big day because Owens is the POTUS' nephew.

Of her three marriages, King considered her second marriage "real."

"I was married when I was 22. Yeah, so I feel like that one didn’t count, you know, that was like a practice," King said, referring to her marriage to McDill, before adding that the one with Edmonds was a "real, legitimate marriage and divorce." King and Edmonds share three children, daughter Aspen, 5, and twin sons Hart and Hayes, 3.

"Then this last one [with Owens] is gonna be annulled, so I’ve had three weddings and two marriages," she said, adding that she felt like she was only married once.

The former Bravo star surprised many when she and Owens announced their split because it happened just over two months after they tied the knot. Also, just three weeks before their separation, King asked for "good marriage tips" on social media, suggesting that she was keen on making their marriage work.

"We feel like we've been married for a million years (thanks to marrying later in life and with a lot of history and, well, kids) so a two-month anniversary staycation was called for," she wrote on Instagram. "Tomorrow real life commences but a few hours in a hotel @lemeridienstlclayton will do a new marriage good. Please, give us more good marriage tips!"
