Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have just been engaged, but the palace already made an announcement that their wedding will be held sometime in May.

According to palace aides, the couple will tie the knot at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The venue can only hold approximately 800 people, which suggests that Markle and Prince Harry’s guests will be much fewer than the guests of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

On Monday, an official announcement from the palace confirmed that Markle and Prince Harry will have a spring wedding. This will be similar to what Prince William and Middleton had in 2011. However, the two tied the knot on April 29 and not in May. As of late, the official date for Markle and Prince Harry’s nuptials has not been confirmed by the palace.

While speaking with The Guardian, a spokesperson revealed that the couple may involve some members of the public in the proceedings. “It will be a moment of fun and joy that will reflect the character of the bride and the groom,” the spokesperson said.

Other than preparing for their big day, Markle is also preparing to become a British citizen. She will also be baptized and confirmed into the Church of England before their May wedding.

Meanwhile, Markle won’t be expected to shell out any money for the wedding, but the palace has yet to comment on whether her parents would be asked to contribute. The royal family will be the one responsible for paying for the church service, music, flowers, giveaways, receptions and more. However, the security costs, policing and other public order arrangements will be covered by the public purse.

Other details about the couple’s wedding, namely, Markle’s wedding dress designer, makeup, shoes and jewelries will be revealed in due course. But the 36-year-old “Suits” alum is expected to wear a white wedding gown despite her status as a divorcee. She was married to Trevero Engelson from 2011 to 2013.
