Meghan Markle just released thank you cards to celebrate her 37th birthday, and she accompanied them with a candid photo of herself.

The snap featured in the thank you cards shows Markle sharing a laugh with fans during her trip to Ireland in July with Prince Harry. The picture was taken by Gerry Mooney.

“The Duchess of Sussex is so touched you took the trouble to write as you did on the occasion of her 37th birthday. It really was most thoughtful of you and Her Royal Highness sends you her heartfelt thanks and best wishes,” the text on the cards read.

Markle’s thank you note appeared on the official stationery for Kensington Palace. The envelope was marked with royal mail and the gold seal featuring Queen Elizabeth II.

The Duchess of Sussex’s sweet note was sent out over a month after her birthday on Aug. 4. Her husband just celebrated his 34th birthday on Sept. 15, and those that sent him cards and gifts will most likely receive a thank you note from the Duke of Sussex next month.

Markle isn’t the only royal that sends out thank you notes to fans. Princess Diana also did the same gesture to her supporters when she was still alive. But the Princess of Wales wrote her notes by hand.

Andrew Morton, a royal biographer, revealed in “Diana: Her True Story – In Her Own Words,” that Princess Diana sat down to respond to the 47,000 congratulatory letters she received after her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981.

Kate Middleton also followed in Princess Diana’s footsteps by sending out thank you letters to her royal fans. She most recently sent out notes to those who congratulated Prince Louis following his christening.

Middleton accompanied the thank you letters with an adorable photo of herself carrying a laughing Prince Louis while at his baptism. The mom of three also released another thank you card on behalf of Prince George following his 5th birthday.

The cards were accompanied by an adorable photo of Prince George wearing a white short-sleeved shirt with blue buttons and his trademark blue shorts. The snap was taken by Porteous at Prince Louis’ christening.
