Meghan Markle’s half-brother decided to invite the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry to his upcoming wedding.

During his interview with Daily Mail, Thomas Markle Jr. revealed that he and his fiancée, Darlene Blount, sent an invite to the royal couple in the hopes that their presence at the wedding will help put all of their family’s issues behind them.

According to Thomas Jr., his main goal for the New Year is to bring his family closer together. He and his dad have not spoken to the “Suits” alum in months. Ahead of Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding, Thomas Markle Sr. posed for a series of fake photographs that the royal family did not necessarily like.

The 74-year-old former lighting director was initially invited to his daughter’s big day, but he was unable to attend due to his heart attack. Thomas underwent heart surgery weeks before Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding day.

Meanwhile, Thomas Jr. and Blount’s wedding will be held either in Reno or Las Vegas, Nevada. Markle’s half-brother said that the gathering is exciting especially since his fiancée initially thought that he was lying about his connection to the new royal.

Markle and Prince Harry have not yet confirmed their attendance to the wedding, but it is highly unlikely that the Duchess of Sussex will travel across the globe to attend the event because she is in the third trimester of her first pregnancy. Markle and Prince Harry are also busy with their upcoming royal engagements.

On Monday, Jan. 14, the royal couple is expected to visit Birkenhead to meet local organizations that support and empower groups within the community. Their one-day engagement will also include a viewing of the new sculpture in Hamilton Square, meeting local vets and members of the Birkenhead Institute Old Boys, and a walkabout.

After their first joint royal engagement for 2019, Prince Harry is expected to embark on his first solo outing at the winter war-games in Norway. Markle will also meet up with the heads and staff of the National Theater, which she is now a patron of.
