Meghan Markle looked fabulous when she stepped out with Prince Harry for her first royal engagement. How did the "Suits" star pick her outfit for her royal debut?

When Markle stepped out last Friday for her first royal duty, she looked every bit of a modern princess. However, Pamela Keogh author of "Audrey Style" and "Jackie Style" noticed a big resemblance to her ensemble to Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy when John F. Kennedy Jr. formally introduced his wife from their honeymoon.

"It was really intriguing and interesting that she wore a very similar outfit to what Carolyn Bessette wore when we first saw her after she married John," Keogh told People. "I like that both Carolyn and Meghan have their own style that they had before they met any sort of a public figure, and they're not afraid to kind of show fresh, young modern style. You don't get the sense that someone else is dressing them."

When the "Horrible Bosses" star stepped out with her fiancé for the World Aids Day, she donned a full-length cashmere double-breasted coat. She also sported a beige-chino style skirt and black turtleneck bodysuit. Markle paired this with over-the-knee boots and accessorized with a burgundy tote bag.

Meanwhile, Bessette-Kennedy wore a camel pencil skirt and a black fitted top. She paired it with tall boots and carried a black purse with a large handle. There is indeed a similarity in their get up.

The publication noted that this is not surprising as Markle is open about how she loves Bessette-Kennedy's fashion. In fact, the "Remember Me" star described the late publicist's wedding dress as "everything goals."

In related news, Markle will likely have a "relaxed" and "California girl" style wedding gown for her big day. In addition, the actress will likely blend the formality of the royal family in the design.

At the time, the palace has not announced who will design Markle's wedding dress. There are speculations that her friend Misha Nonoo might be offered the opportunity. However, some sources think that Prince Harry's fiancée will pick Princess Diana's longtime favorite designers Catherine Walker and Amanda Wakeley to pay tribute to the late Princess of Wales.
