Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just gave a subtle not to Princess Diana on their royal baby announcement this week.

Hours after it was announced that Markle had already given birth, a statement from the Royal Family’s Communications Department was released. The document detailed how the members of the British clan are all excited for the birth of Baby Sussex.

And in a royal first, the names of Princess Diana’s siblings were also mentioned in the document. During the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children, the siblings of the late Princess of Wales were not included in the official announcement.

“The Duchess of Sussex has been delivered of a son. Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526 hrs… The baby weighs [7 pounds 3 ounces],” the document read.

It was also revealed that Prince Harry was there to witness the birth of his son. Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, and Middleton have all been informed and are delighted with the news.

Also, part of the same paragraph that mentions the royal family is the names of Princess Diana’s siblings, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and Earl Spencer. The final paragraph was allotted for Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, who was also by her side when she gave birth.

Following the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s baby, Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, also tweeted about the exciting news. He said that he’s glad to have another Taurean in the family.

Meanwhile, the royal baby announcement is not the first time that Markle and Prince Harry honored the latter’s late mother. Prince Harry included two diamonds from Princess Diana’s jewelry collection on Markle’s engagement ring.

Markle also wore a veil that was very similar to Princess Diana when she tied the knot with Prince Harry on May 19, 2018. On the same event, Markle was also seen with a cocktail ring that was previously owned by her mother-in-law.
