More details about Microsoft Surface Pro 8, including some of its features and its possible release window, have been circulating online, thanks to a recently uncovered official document.

New Leak

A recent report from Windows Latest revealed that the publication got a hold of the FCC certification of Microsoft Surface Pro 8. In the industry, the FCC certification is one of the indications that the product is nearing its announcement and eventual release. The document, which was updated on Jan. 4, reveals that the upcoming tablet features LTE cellular capability.

It mentions that Microsoft Surface Pro 8 utilizes Long Term Evolution (LTE) connectivity and Bluetooth 5. Additionally, the device houses an Intel AX201 wifi adapter that allows the device to use WiFi 6 connectivity. It also has Quectel's LTE-A Cat 12 M.2 module for optimum 4G connectivity.

These hardware features indicate the device can offer better wireless performance than the previous Surface Pro iterations. Users can manage the device's connectivity through Windows 10 settings, the report added.

Rumored Specs

A few weeks earlier, German tech outlet WinFuture shared a full lineup of Microsoft Surface Pro 8 configurations. It claimed that the upcoming premium tablet will be available in four configurations for the European market. These are the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 i3, Surface Pro 8 LTE, Surface Pro 8 LTE i5 and Surface Pro 8 i7.

The i3 configuration is only available in 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage model. The i5 configuration offers 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB of internal storage, 16 GB of RAM with 128 GB of internal storage and 16 GB of RAM with 256 GB of internal storage. This configuration is reportedly available for both LTE and WiFi-only variants.

Finally, the device's i7 configuration includes 16 GB of RAM with 256 GB of internal storage, 16 GB of RAM with 512 GB of internal storage, 16 GB of RAM with 1 TB of internal storage and 32 GB of RAM with 1 TB of internal storage.

Release Date

Microsoft has not yet mentioned anything related to the release window of the Surface Pro 8. According to rumors, the device might launch sometime in the first half of 2021. Fans can expect more details about Microsoft's upcoming premium tablet at the company's next event allegedly happening later in January or in the early part of February through a YouTube teaser or blog post.
