Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson repeatedly punched a passenger on a plane about to fly out of San Francisco after becoming irritated by the man's attempts at talking to him.

After the incident, many people could not help but wonder what Tyson has been doing since he retired from boxing. Here is the answer to that and more about Tyson and his present-day wealth.

Tyson, “Iron Mike” to his fans, ended his two-decade professional boxing career in June 2005 following his loss to Kevin McBride.

In November 2020, Tyson returned to the ring for an exhibition fight against his fellow Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr. Rumors of possible matches against YouTuber-turned-boxers Logan and Jake Paul quickly surfaced, but they later died down.

According to Tyson, none of the rumored fights with the siblings were happening.

In an appearance on the “Full Send” podcast, Tyson said, "I don't think I'd ever just do stuff like that anymore. I wanted to do it the first time just for fun, just to have fun. Then some people took it to another level and made it financial, and the fun went out of it."

"Every 12-13 months, boom! Something's missing," Tyson said. "Boom! I'm losing muscle mass. It's always something different. And, I don't know. Guys want to fight me for $100 million.”

Tyson reportedly earned over $400 million from fights and endorsements in his 20 years as boxing’s most dominant fighter.

At his peak, he lived a famously lavish lifestyle, spending millions on mansions, cars, jewelry, extravagant gifts for strangers, and even a collection of Bengal tigers.

Tyson's downfall began in 1992, after he was convicted of rape and sentenced to six years in prison, of which he served three.

Financially drained, he was forced to sell some of his homes. He declared bankruptcy in 2003, according to The New York Times.

While he showed no interest in returning to the ring to make a fortune, Tyson has been busy with other ventures, such as his cannabis business.

According to The Sun, Tyson became a millionaire once again after launching his company Tyson Holistic and selling medical marijuana.

Today, his net worth stands at $10 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.
