The spotlight is on forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang as it remains uncertain on how his contract negotiations will pan out for Arsenal. Despite this, manager Mikel Arteta is optimistic that it will work out in the best possible way.

While Aubameyang is about to enter the final year of his contract, it has been speculated that he has not decided yet if he will remain with Arsenal. As reported by Goal.com, the 30-year-old has been discerning regarding his future.

“It is a turning point in my career, and I will be very frank with everyone, it will certainly be a very difficult decision to make. I still have not decided. It will maybe be the most important decision of my career.”

Several teams have kept their eyes open for Aubameyang as he remains to be one of the more coveted players of the sport. Clubs such as Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid can benefit from someone of the former African footballer of the year’s caliber. The elite offensive skills of the two-time top scorer should provide as an asset for any club.

During Aubameyang’s stint with Borussia Dortmund, his 213 appearances led to a total of 141 goals and 36 assists. In his current stay with Arsenal, he’s amounted to 97 appearances and has scored in 61 separate occasions. To add to these, he’s displayed his excellent passing abilities with 13 assists.

Per Arteta, he believes that the pieces will fall into place eventually.

“I think it’s our responsibility to make him feel that this is the right next step in his career,” Arteta said by way of Goal.com.

Throughout this period, Arteta wants to boost Aubameyang’s morale and give him the empowerment as an integral part of the club.

“In order to do that he needs to feel valued. He needs to feel that he belongs to us and that we want him - and then he really needs to believe we can take this club forward in the way we want to do. He’s going to be a key player to do that,” Arteta said.

To add to this, Arteta shared that they have been in contact with Aubameyang’s family and agent regarding this matter.

“I am pretty positive that we can find the right agreement for all parties,” Arteta concluded.

It will be interesting to see how Arsenal handles the situation and if they can truly secure one of their top players to stay with their club.
