Miley Cyrus seemed to have joined in on the conspiracy theory surrounding Britney Spears by singing about it on stage recently. The “Wrecking Ball” hitmaker surprised her fans by singing "Free Britney" on stage at the Beale Street Music Festival.

Cyrus traveled to her hometown in Memphis on Saturday to surprise her fans with a performance. While singing her song “Party in the U.S.A,” she shouted, “Free Britney,” TMZ reported.

There has been a conspiracy theory among Spears’ fans that the singer is being held against her will at a mental health facility. The “Toxic” singer recently checked into a mental health facility because she was struggling with depression after her father underwent emergency surgery.

As far as Spears is concerned, she addressed this issue previously with an Instagram post. The singer said that the recent rumors about her are not true, but things have gotten so out of control that some of her family members are getting death threats.

The source of the rumors appears to be a set of emails that Spears said that she did not write. According to the singer, someone created a fake email address and sent out some messages to her team.

Spears asked her fans not to believe everything they read about her situation. She thanked her fans for their love and dedication, but added that she needs privacy right now to deal with “all the hard things” that life is throwing her way. She said that she has been trying to deal with her unique situation, but all that has been happening in the recent past have apparently made things harder for her.

Spears appears to be recovering well. The singer recently shared a video of her doing yoga in a bikini on Instagram. “I really like it LIKE THAT ,” she captioned the video, in which she can be seen in some extreme yoga poses.
