Earlier this year, credible Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the iPhone SE 2 will be released in the first quarter of 2020. Several tech outfits also reported leaked features and specs of the next iteration to Apple’s iPhone SE series. Recently, Ming-Chi Kuo once again indicates that the much-awaited iPhone SE 2 is scheduled to enter mass production in January 2020 and will arrive probably by the end of March 2020.

TFI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is one of the most reliable Apple tipsters. The Taiwan-based analyst’s latest prediction about the iPhone SE 2 aligns with his previous statement that it might arrive in the first quarter of next year. The device is anticipated to be retailed at $399 and will most likely cater to iPhone 6 users and price-conscious segments who still want to own an iPhone.

Based on the historical patterns of Apple in terms of product releases, predicting future product launches comes with a risk. However, Apple usually launches more affordable iPhones in March. It can be recalled that the first iPhone SE was launched on Mar 21, 2016, the pre-orders were opened on Mar 24, and the product officially released on Mar 31, 2016.

The iPhone Se was re-released a year later on Mar 24, 2017, with far larger storage capacities. The Cupertino-based tech giant also held a special event in the last week of March for the past couple of years. The iPhone SE 2 is anticipated to have a 4.7-inch LED display without 3D touch. It is expected to house Apple A13 bionic chip similar to that on iPhone 11 series.

Additionally, the iPhone SE 2 is believed to sport a 3 GB LPDDR4X RAM, with 64 GB and 128 GB storage options. It will reportedly be released in three color variants, namely Red, Space Gray, and Silver. Moreover, the iPhone SE 2 is anticipated to be released without the Home button.

Ming-Chi Kou expects that the iPhone SE will look a lot like the iPhone 8 and claims that it will be a popular upgrade alternative for users of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S. The iPhone SE 2 is believed to be Apple’s key growth driver in 2020. The Taiwan-based analyst also believes that the iPhone SE 2 customers are those with low desire for the latest next-generation features like multiple cameras and Face ID, which suggests that the upcoming device will keep the Touch ID and a single-lens rear camera.
