The Coca-Cola Co. is voluntarily recalling about 7,500 of its Minute Maid products in eight states due to the possibility that a foreign object may be present.

The recall, reported by Food Safety News, says that the foreign object could be a “metal bolt or washer” in 59-ounce cartons of the juice flavors "Berry Punch, Strawberry Lemonade and Fruit Punch."

"We took this voluntary action because nothing is more important to us than providing safe, high-quality products to the people who drink our beverages," a Coca-Cola spokesperson told Fox News in a statement.

The Food and Drug Administration posted that recalled products were distributed in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Maine and New Jersey.

The recall was also declared as a “Class II,” meaning that the product “in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”

The shelf life of the recalled products lasts into 2022, which has raised concern over the possibility that the products could be stored in homes.

It is the second current recall issued by the beverage giant.

In late November, some 12-ounce cans of Coca-Cola and Sprite were part of a recall, due to the potential presence of a foreign matter.
