Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert may have moved on after ending their four-year marriage last July, but reports are still speculating on what led to the couple’s separation. Following their divorce announcement, rumors swirled that Shelton and Lambert cheated on each other. Now, a new report by OK! Magazine that says Lambert owned up to her friends that she was the real reason behind the breakup has been debunked by Gossip Cop.

A source told the magazine, as cited by Gossip Cop, that Lambert has been “wracked with guilt for a while” over her rumored infidelities, and “thinks that alcohol played a part in her behavior.” The source further alleged that the songstress “really wants Blake to know she’s sorry” and “doesn’t want to hold him back.”

However, Gossip Cop says it cross-checked the magazine’s claims with a source close to Lambert and found that the report was “not true.”

Shelton and Lambert were a couple for over a decade. The two are now dating Gwen Stefani and Anderson East, respectively.

Last month, Shelton candidly spoke about his separation from Lambert in an interview with People magazine.

“This time last year, there was no light at the end of the tunnel for me, personally,” Shelton said. “There was a point there where I thought I didn’t even want to exist anymore. I told people I wished I could go into a coma and wake up a year from now.”
