Miss Universe 2015
Gabriela Isler of Venezuela was crowned Miss Universe 2013. Tonight she'll pass the crown to someone else. Facbook

Tonight is a big night for the women competing in the Miss Universe pageant. On Sunday Jan. 25, 88 female contestants will gather at the FIU Arena in Doral-Miami to see who is finally crowned Miss Universe for the coming year.

The 63rd annual pageant will be broadcast live on NBC at 8 p.m. EST. It’s important to note that the crown will represent the winner for 2014, despite the finals being held in 2015. Natalie Morales of “Today” will host alongside MSNBC News anchor Thomas Roberts.

The contestants hail from all around the world and will compete before by a panel of celebrity judges including Desean Jackson, Giancarlo Cruz-Michael Stanton, Louise Roe, Manny Pacquiao, Nina Garcia, Kristin Cavallari and more. Each of the stunning contestants will be judged based on three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview.

The climax of the evening will be when Miss Universe 2013, Gabriela Isler of Venezuela, places the brand-new crown on one lucky contestant. However, the three-hour event will feature more than the competition. Viewers can look forward to live performances from Prince Royce, Nick Jonas and Gavin DeGraw.

Representing the United States in the 63rd annual pageant will be 24-year-old Nia Sanchez of Las Vegas. The United States has proven to be one of the better competitors in the competition over the years. Eight women from the United States have been crowned, which is more than any other competing country.

The Donald Trump-owned show will be broadcast live on NBC. For those who won’t have access to a television, the show will be live streamed on NBC’s website. Be prepared to input your cable provider information in order to watch, though. Meanwhile, the preliminary Miss Universe show is available to stream at the pageant’s official website.
