KEY POINTS

  • Aung La N Sang wants to make sure that Vitaly Bigdash never calls him out again after their fight at ONE: Full Circle
  • Both fighters have one win against each other back in 2017
  • Bigdash called for the trilogy fight following his win over Fan Rong back in December

Aung La N Sang and Vitaly Bigdash have a score to settle after splitting their first two meetings, and the former wants to have the last laugh at ONE: Full Circle.

In a recent interview, Aung La N Sang was asked about how he plans on approaching his third matchup with Bigdash and acknowledged that it will be a completely different fight.

“I approached this as a brand-new fight. It’s not like we fought a few months ago. It’s been five years. But we did go ten rounds, so I know what his strong suit is. I know what his skill set is. But he’s still going to develop as a fighter, and I’m still going to develop as a fighter. You’re going to see a better version, a better trilogy match, than what you saw in the first two showings,” he remarked.

As noted by the former two-division champion, their first two matchups went the distance and both men were in danger of finishing the other.

In their January 2017 meeting, it was Bigdash who took Aung La N Sang by surprise thanks to his well-rounded fighting style that forced “The Burmese Python” to adapt to how he wanted to fight.

However, Aung La N Sang took the victory in their second contest just a few months later by way of unanimous decision as he effectively battered his rival from the opening bell with well-timed strikes.

Following his victory over Chinese prospect Fan Rong at ONE: Winter Warriors II, Bigdash called out Aung La N Sang.

Now, they will get a proper finish to their heated rivalry.

For the 36-year-old from Myanmar, coming out on top of Bigdash is everything as he guns for a rematch with the man who took both his middleweight and light heavyweight titles on separate occasions, Reinier de Ridder.

“Every fight is very important. Every win is very important. This fight is very important. It’s very, very important to me. I want to put a stamp on this trilogy match, and I want him to never, never, never, never, ever want to fight me again,” Aung La N Sang boldly asserted.

Five years since their last meeting, Bigdash bounced back in a big way following his loss to Aung La N Sang by forcing his last two opponents to tap out via submission.

However, Aung La N Sang only cares about finishing Bigdash and their trilogy in a major way.

“I’m expecting a finish. I always fight for the finish. Unfortunately, in the last two meetings, we weren’t able to get a finish. But, for me, it’s kill or be killed,” he declared.

ONE: Full Circle will be streaming live on the ONE Super App and the official ONE Championship YouTube channel at 6:00 PM SGT (5:00 AM ET in the United States) on Friday, February 25.
