“Modern Family” star Julie Bowen was recently slammed for poking fun at President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump.

On Friday night’s inauguration, Barron was photographed looking down to the floor while his father was being sworn into office. Bowen screenshot the moment and posted it on her Instagram account. She seemed to take a jab at the young boy, saying that Barron could be playing with his Gameboy. The comedian also used the hashtag “Barron for president.”

She then posted another photo of Barron fixing his hair, but in the caption, the actress implied that the boy might be confused with how his father could run the entire country.

After Bowen uploaded the series of photos, some of her followers criticized her for bullying Barron online. Other fans also stopped following the actress on her social media account. Another fan urged Bowen to stop humiliating Barron just because she doesn’t like Trump as the country’s new president.

On her Twitter account, one concerned follower asked Bowen how she would feel if it was her children who were being treated negatively on social media. The actress replied by saying that her kids would be a horror show at any public event.

Meanwhile, Bowen plays the role of Claire Dunphy in “Modern Family.” In the hit ABC sitcom, she is married to Phil (Ty Burrell), and they have been blessed with three children: Haley (Sarah Hyland), Alex (Ariel Winter) and Luke (Nolan Gould). Each of their three kids has a very different personality. Haley is not very smart, but she’s extremely popular. Alex is not very popular, but she’s extremely smart. Luke is neither of the two. In the show, Claire typically jokes around with her kids, but always shows love and support when they need her the most.

“Modern Family” Season 8 airs Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
