Dell has revealed a new 4K webcam at this year’s Mobile World Congress. The 4K UltraSharp webcam features HDR support and also uses a bunch of tech under the hood to help make the image captured look even better.

As one would assume, the Dell 4K UltraSharp webcam captures images in 4K resolution. This is impressive given the webcam’s size, which appears to be no larger than any other webcam currently available. We haven’t personally used the 4K UltraSharp, so all we know for sure is what we’ve found in pictures. The webcam attaches to its mount via a magnet and is said to sit on top of a monitor in a way that it doesn’t block the screen in any way.

Along with the high resolution, the 4K UltraSharp webcam uses video noise reduction techniques to help eliminate motion blur and grainy images. Dell says that these techniques also work when the camera is in low light, which will be a real test to see how it can perform.

The webcam’s camera can also be set up to operate with a 65 degree, 78 degree or 90 degree window of vision. This alters how much of an area the camera will display. If multiple people or a large project are appearing on screen, it might be best to open the camera up to its widest 90 degree setting. If it’s just one person sitting in front of the camera, a tighter 65 degree angle might look better. The camera also uses AI to focus on the subject on screen, meaning it will follow a user around to keep them in the center of the frame at all times.

Once done with the camera for the day, an included security cap can be snapped onto the front of the lens to block the camera from picking up anything. Speaking of security, the camera can be paired with Windows Hello to automatically unlock when its owner is close and lock when the owner walks away.

Those who are looking to upgrade their current webcam, or want to dive in with the best of the best, don’t need to wait long. The Dell 4K UltraSharp webcam is already available to order on the Dell website. The 4K UltraSharp webcam retails for $200.
