Americans celebrate National Doughnut or Donut Day on the first Friday of June every year to honor the Salvation Army Lassies -- the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during the First World War to boost the morale of the troops.

The first-ever National Donut Day was celebrated in Chicago in 1938 and this year, it will be celebrated on June 4.

Several food chains across the United States offer free donuts to celebrate the day. Here’s where you can find the best deals this year –

  • Krispy Kreme – You can get a free donut of your choice, and if you are vaccinated, you can get two of them.
  • Dunkin Donuts - You can get a free classic donut on purchase of any beverage
  • Duck Donuts - Stop by on June 4 to get a bare, cinnamon sugar, or powdered sugar donut
  • Randy’s Donuts - Free Glazed Buttermilk Bites are being offered until stocks last

Once you get your donut, you will be tempted to post the photo of the same on Instagram. And, if you are confused about the caption, worry not, we are here to help. Here are some witty and catchy captions for your Instagram pictures, courtesy Elite Daily and Ask For Adventure –
