KEY POINTS

  • Wizards, Grizzlies face off on Sunday
  • Wizards tagged as slight underdogs at home
  • Grizzlies to play after roster changes from deadline

The Washington Wizards pounced on a banged-up Dallas Mavericks Friday night for a 119-118 escape win. They will look to notch back-to-back victories when they host the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday inside the Capital One Arena in D.C. The match is scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 pm Eastern Time, will be televised on NBC Sports Washington and Fox Sports Southeast, and will be streamed on NBA League Pass and Sofascore.

Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies went on a slight makeover as Memphis' front office went down to work at the trade deadline. And as they adapt to their modified roster, the Grizzlies will try to keep their focus on winning and build more buffer on their way to clinching a spot in the Playoffs. They also seek to regain their stance after the Philadelphia 76ers sent them crashing back to earth on Friday. 119-107, and served them just their second defeat in eight games.

Washington Wizards

Bradley Beal’s personal streak of scoring at least 30 points was halted at seven games on Friday. But the surge spoiler failed to heap frustration on Beal as the Wizards star guard still stole the spotlight by coming through the clutch to rescue Washington over the Mavs. While the squeaker gave them their third win in four games, the Wizards still have a lot of catching up to do before booking a comfortable seat on the postseason flight.

Odds and Trends

The Wizards have been commendable over their last outings but their fine performance recently still failed to get the nod of the sportsbooks as they are tagged as underdogs at home against the Grizzlies on the updated NBA Odds.

Grizzlies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight-up loss of more than 10 points and 6-1 in their last 7 games following a straight-up loss.

Wizards are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a home underdog and 4-1 in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Over is 5-0 in Grizzlies' last 5 road games and 4-0 in Wizards' last 4 Sunday games.

Under is 6-2 in Grizzlies' last 8 games as a favorite and 8-3 in their last 11 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
