With four teams remaining in the playoffs, there are eight possible outcomes for the 2022 NBA Finals. The Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics have the best odds to win the championship, while the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks are featured in the least likely NBA Finals matchups.

An NBA Finals matchup between the Warriors and Celtics is considered to be the most likely outcome. Golden State beating Boston for the title has the best odds of any result at FanDuel Sportsbook at +290. The Celtics beating the Warriors is second on the list of possible outcomes with +390 odds.

Boston might’ve had the most difficult path to the conference finals. In the first round, the Celtics swept the Brooklyn Nets, who were favored to win the championship for most of the season. In the second round, Boston defeated the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks.

The Celtics are in the conference finals for the fourth time in six years. Jayson Tatum leads Boston with 28.3 points per game in the playoffs.

The Warriors are the only team in the conference finals that has won a championship in the last decade. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green played in five straight NBA Finals from 2015-2019, winning three titles. Kevin Durant was part of the last three Golden State teams to win the West.

Of the three other teams, the Heat have come the closest to winning a title in recent years. Miami was defeated by the Los Angeles Lakers in six games in the 2020 NBA Finals. The Heat’s top three scorers were all part of the team that nearly won the championship in the bubble playoffs two years ago.

Golden State beating Miami in the Finals has +430 odds. A Heat championship coming at the expense of the Warriors in the Finals has +700 odds.

Miami has +1000 odds to beat Dallas in the Finals. Jimmy Butler’s 28.7 points per game are second only to Luka Doncic among the remaining postseason scoring leaders.

The Mavericks beating the Heat is viewed as the least likely conclusion to this year’s NBA playoffs. That exact outcome has +1600 odds. Dallas beating Boston in the NBA Finals has +1300 odds.

Dallas has the worst odds, despite having arguably the best player left in the postseason. In the Mavericks’ second-round win over the Phoenix Suns, Doncic averaged 32.6 points, 9.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. Only Michael Jordan has averaged more points per game in the playoffs than Doncic.

The Mavericks have +600 odds to lose to the Celtics in the Finals.
