Giannis Antetokounmpo is unstoppable when driving to the lane that every time he attacks the basket, someone’s going to be at the bad end of a highlight reel. This season, he’s taken the most number three-pointers in his career and we’re just about to enter the NBA All-Star break.

The “Greek Freak” has taken 233 shots from downtown so far while making 73 of them for a 31.3-percent clip – those 73 conversions are also the most in his career and that’s still bound to increase.

Now that he’s at a new chapter of his life, the current MVP is hoping that this could make him improve even more. Per Bleacher Report’s post on social media, the 25-year old new dad hopes that his shot will start falling after his son was born.

Trying to achieve the same feat as the Toronto Raptors’ point guard Fred VanVleet is not just a random selection as Giannis saw it happening right before his eyes. Business Insider reported that the undrafted guard from Wichita State was having a slump offensively during almost the entire duration of the post-season before the birth of his son, Fred Jr., while in the middle of their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Milwaukee Bucks.

ESPN stats show that the 6-foot-1 guard scored 14 points in their first playoff game against the Orlando Magic but only averaged 5.5 points the rest of the series. His averages dropped to just 2.0 points a game in their semis series against the Philadelphie 76ers where he had two scoreless games. He was only chipping in 3.3 points a night during the first three games against the Bucks but after the younger VanVleet was born, he’s scored in double-figures in all but one of the succeeding games and making clutch shots with regularity en route to winning the NBA title last season.

The Milwaukee star isn’t doing badly himself – 30 points, 13.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists with over a steal and a block each game this season and it’s just a scary sight to see if he gets the same shooting touch now that he has his own lucky charm. He didn’t play in the Bucks’ win against the Sacramento Kings as he needed to be with his girlfriend Mariah Riddlesprigger as she gives birth to their first child, which they named Liam Charles Antetokounmpo.
