Latvian NBA sensation Kristaps Porzingis admitted that he has been dealing with pressure after signing with the Dallas Mavericks but has been feeling better now.

Porzingis’ exit from the New York Knicks is considered as one of the most controversial issues in the NBA this past offseason. As the finesse big man roll with his Mavs this year, it appears that the departure from his old team still haunts him. However, Porzingis has kept his head high and recently stated that he’s starting to feel more comftable in his game.

The Mavs defeated the defending champions Toronto Raptors Saturday 110-102. During the thrilling game, Porzingis tied his career high in rebounds and grabbed 15 boards. Aside from a couple of missed shots, Porzingis was pleased with his performance as he felt “more natural” during the game, Dallas News reported.

“It felt more natural today, not as forced. I just missed a lot of shots. That’s still what’s frustrating me a little bit, but I’m happy we got the win,” Porzingis said after win against Raptors.

Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle also spoke about how victory over Toronto represented a step forward for the Mavericks flow on offense and Porzingis’ role in it. According to Carlisle, Porzingis is starting to find his rhythm and gel with the tam’s system.

“I loved the way he moved and played within the team system tonight,” Carlisle said about Porzingis.

“We made some real progress as a team, not only defensively but offensively, especially with that first unit,” Carlisle added.

However, in an interview with Fanatics View, the 24-year-old NBA star admitted that he has been dealing with pressure for quite some time. It will be remembered that Porzingis signed a fairly good deal with the Mavericks given his age and the fact that some Knicks fans are still not over with him.

“I’m more calm. Just a little too anxious. (I) just signed a big deal, I wanna play well. I wanna do things right,” Porzingis said.

“Defeinitely put a lot of pressure on myself from the beginning. Now I’m just trying to relax and play my game. With each game I feel more comftable out there,” Porzingis admitted.

Porzingis is currently dealing with another controversy as he got reportedly involved in an altercation with a female fan moments after the game against Toronto.

“She kind of overreacted a little bit. I was walking out and she wanted me to sign a ball. As I was getting closer to her she just kind of was a little bit all over the place. And the security guard grabbed her. I wanted to sign the ball; at that point I thought it was the easiest thing to do, but I don’t know what happened, unfortunately. I hope she’s fine,” Porzingis explained.
