  • Dennis Rodman claims he once dated current Lakers president Jeanie Buss
  • Rodman gained a reputation as a ladies' man off the court
  • "The Worm" had a brief stint playing for the Lakers

Dennis Rodman is a controversial-yet-colorful individual that most are aware of.

From being a basketball player, things just turned around for the 6-foot-7 cager who is best known for his pesky defense and rebounding prowess.

Rodman is a five-time champion, having won NBA titles with the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls.

Curiously, the man known as “The Worm” also played for the Los Angeles Lakers.

It was not exactly a memorable stint with Rodman playing only 23 games and averaging 11.3 rebounds, 2.1 points, and 1.3 assists in 28 minutes of action.

While that stint was not one of the best memories for Rodman, it appears it was the exact opposite as far as his off-court activities are concerned.

He shared an interesting claim, stating he dated current Lakers owner Jeanie Buss back in the 1990s via the Basketball Network.

"Jeanie Buss called me. Jeanie said ‘Dennis , you want to go out to dinner?' I said ‘Yeah why not.’ I’ve known Jeanie since she was in Playboy. So they put me up in the Ritz Carlton, in the penthouse, and she said ‘You wanna have some drinks?' So we have some drinks. Of course…take it from there. So I start, this is a true story, I started dating Jeanie Buss. I dated her for six months," Rodman recalled.

Buss has yet to comment on Rodman’s claims on dating the Lakers' top brass, but the five-time NBA champion has always been regarded as a ladies' man.

Roland Lazenby, an acclaimed sports author, weighed in on Rodman's fondness for women when he appeared on the Sports Bytes PH podcast.

“They loved Dennis [Rodman] so much that all women would show their breasts. [Bulls photographer] Bill Smith would take photographs of all these women. Not a word of what I’ve said is exaggerated. I would suggest that the life of Dennis Rodman is epic. It became a giant party,” the 69-year-old shared.
