Japan's NEC is in talks with China's Lenovo about a joint venture in personal computers, two industry sources told Reuters on Friday.

The Nikkei business daily said earlier that the two were negotiating a deal under which Lenovo would likely take a controlling stake in NEC's personal computer unit. But the sources said it was not clear what form the joint venture might take.
