Apple enthusiasts may have reason to be excited. The iPhone maker is rumored to be releasing new products around March 8.

Bloomberg reported that people with knowledge of the matter expect that the early launch will introduce a new “low-cost” 5G iPhone and iPad.

The new iPhone could resemble Apple’s current “low-cost” iPhone, the iPhone SE, which retails at $399 compared to iPhone 13 models which range from $799 and up. The new iPad is expected to be an updated iPad Air which currently retails at $599. Both devices were last updated in October of 2020, according to the report.

The new models are expected to not be dramatically different, but with faster processors and 5G support.

There is also the chance that Apple will launch the official release of its newest iPhone software, iOS 15.4. This software is in beta testing with rumors of including multiple different features like facial recognition while wearing a mask, Universal Control, and new emojis.

Universal Control would let customers use a single keyboard and trackpad across multiple iPads and Macs.

The launch is expected to be an online presentation like other recent launches due to a transition to more virtual events because of the pandemic.

Other new 2022 Apple products that will be released in the fall are expected to include a new iMac and Mac Pro desktops, a redesigned MacBook Air, an updated low-end MacBook Pro, three Apple Watches, four iPhone 14 models and new AirPods, according to Bloomberg.
