New competitor: Is the upcoming Windows Phone 7 version of Samsung Galaxy S2 a threat to iPhone 5?
If rumors are to be believed then the Korea-based electronics giant Samsung will be bringing out a brand new Samsung Galaxy S2 which will be powered by Windows 7 instead of Android.
The Samsung-made smartphone that has been selling like hot cakes previously has been rumored to be powered by the Microsoft OS as it has the exact profile as that of a Mango version of the Windows Phone 7. The phone is also known to support the same set of games that are made for the Windows-made phone.
Samsung Galaxy S2, previously, was reported to sell nearly 3 million units in 55 days, according to a Phone Arena report.
The current Samsung Galaxy S2 flashes a 4.3-inch 480X800 pixel screen compared to iPhone 5’s rumored 3.7-inch curved glass screen. The Samsung smartphone runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and is powered by a dual core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor. The iPhone 5 will be running the upcoming iOS 5.
If a Windows Phone 7 version of Samsung Galaxy S2 is released, owing to the device’s popularity, Apple can really find a big competitor in Samsung.
