HMD Global’s upcoming flagship Android smartphone, the Nokia 8, will be unveiled later this month, and a new batch of leaks has given almost every detail about the device.

One of the most significant new information about the Nokia 8 flagship is that it will feature a 13-megapixel front camera. Evidence of this was uncovered when leaked photos of the Nokia 8’s settings were published online on Chinese websites Baidu (have already been taken down) and on VTechgraphy.

The Nokia 8 appears to be HMD Global’s first major attempt at building a flagship Nokia Android smartphone, and it’s not skimping on features. Last month, IBT reported about a leak saying the Nokia 8 will arrive with a set of 13-megapixel cameras on the back, and they will be equipped with Carl Zeiss lenses.

Pairing that dual camera system with a high performance front-facing camera could make the Nokia 8 a favorite amongst photography enthusiasts. However, the success of the device won’t simply hinge on camera features alone.

There’s been a lot of rumors floating around regarding the Nokia 8’s specs. Now, benchmark results of the phone have apparently been leaked as well, and they appear to confirm previous speculations about the device.

The Nokia 8 (listed with model number TA-1012) is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, the same chipset that’s on Samsung’s Galaxy S8, the OnePlus 5 and the HTC U11. The device will also come with 4GB of RAM, which should be more than enough for most users. There’s also the Adreno 540 GPU, which should also be serviceable for graphically demanding apps and games.

The Nokia 8 benchmark results also show that the device will have a quad HD 1440p display. The screen size hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the display is listed as having a pixel density of 559ppi. This could mean that the Nokia 8 might feature a 5.2 or 5.3-inch display, as pointed out by NDTV.

On the software side of things, the Nokia 8 is running Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It’s presumed to be the software version that will run on the device straight out of the box seeing that Nokia is committed to bringing stock Android to its phones.

There was no information given regarding the Nokia 8’s storage size. However, it’s being speculated that the handset might arrive with 64GB of onboard storage. It’s also very likely that it will support storage expansion of up to 256GB through a microSD card slot.

VentureBeat published a supposed render of the Nokia 8 last month, and it looks like the handset will be missing out on the current smartphone trend. The Nokia 8 will look very similar to the Nokia 6 with its design still having thick top and bottom bezels.

With more and more major manufacturers moving forward with thinner bezels, Nokia and HMD will have to truly impress consumers with the Nokia 8, bezels and all. The Nokia 8 is expected to be announced on Aug. 19 during HMD Global’s event in London, England.
