Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will not leave Paris Saint-Germain, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said. Despite being linked to several transfer talks lately, the Qatari executive insists that the superstar duo won’t be going anywhere as he believes both players will spend the rest of their careers with the French club.

“Neymar and Kylian are some of the best players in the world,” the 46-year-old told RMC Sport at post-game after PSG scored a huge come from behind victory over Atalanta, 2-1, in the club’s return to action in the Champions League on Wednesday.

“They're both going to stay, they're never going to leave!"

Al-Khelaifi lauded PSG’s overall team effort in the statement win. The goal for the club, according to the beIN Media Group chairman, is to prove their skeptics wrong, and he could not be more ecstatic with the way the players displayed great mental fortitude amidst the doubts.

"Everyone said that Paris was not ready for the Champions League, but we showed a great mentality, with great players," he said. "Our goal is very big but we are not thinking today of the final, only the semi-final. It's very important to change the mentality.

"You too, the media, everyone doubts PSG. The Champions League, we needed this victory to go further.

"I am really proud and I want to thank everyone, the players, the manager. After the league was stopped, everyone said that we were not ready for this Champions League, but we showed great mental strength with great players too."

It was PSG’s total team play that propelled the late comeback, but Neymar and Mbappe’s significant share of the spotlight could not be overlooked, especially with the pair’s composure in full display down the stretch.

Notably, Mbappe had been predicted to miss the game as he is still nursing a right ankle injury, which he suffered during the French Cup Final late in July. Instead, the 21-year-old rising star took on the role by coming off the bench and still made sure to be at the scene of the game-saving play as he created the winner for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
