Statistics revealed that Neymar currently surpasses Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as best player in Europe.

Just like how it has been in the last decade, Messi and Ronaldo have been at their best again this season.

The Argentine who won a record-breaking sixth Ballon d'Or in December, has racked up 20 goal contributions in just16 La Liga games. And though he is rapidly approaching his 33rd birthday, many are convinced that he is still the best player in the world.

“CR7,” on the other hand, is coming off a hot start this 2020. His Serie A performances has been remarkable. The Portuguese has now scored a goal against every side he has faced and has the chance to make a clean sweep by scoring a goal against the two remaining sides Juventus hasn’t played yet.

However, despite Messi and Ronaldo’s impressive display, it was Neymar who has been statistically the best player in Europe lately.

According to stats (which cover their performances in the league and not in domestic or European cup competitions) compiled by WhoScored that listed the 20 best players in Europe this campaign, Neymar statistically beat both Messi and Ronaldo to earn the no. 1 spot in ratings.

Neymar was rated 8.59 and proved that he is a little better than Messi who garnered a 8.50 rating.

Neymar eclipses his former Barcelona teammate to top spot with his 13 goals tally in Ligue 1 thus far. The Brazilian has also contributed five assists to prove that he’s one of the best playmakers in the world.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo is way behind with 7.88 rating. The Juventus forward’s stats went a bit far from expected after his impressive start in Serie A. Nevertheless, Ronaldo is still going strong and he’s 17 Serie A goals tally in 18 just games is still a milestone for a 34-year-old veteran.

Aside from soccer, Neymar is also passionate about basketball. Just a few days ago, the PSG star answered some of the most interesting questions about the sport close to his heart.

Among the questions he was asked was which NBA star he believes would make a good soccer player, to which Neymar replied Kyrie Irving. He also revealed that his style was comparable to Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry's and that he believes NBA superstar LeBron James is faster than him.

Neymar also made a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant in one of his latest goals for Paris Saint-Germaine which happened just hours after the devastating death of the NBA legend.
