With four games left for each NFL team, it is becoming increasingly clear that the league MVP race is down to two players. New Orleans Saints (10-2) quarterback Drew Brees remains the favorite, but after a poor week for Brees, Kansas City Chiefs (10-2) quarterback Patrick Mahomes closed the gap, according to Bovada.

Brees became the favorite a couple of weeks ago, thanks to a 10-game winning streak in which he only threw one interception. However, since then, he has thrown an interception in consecutive games, with one coming in a shocking road loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He is still the minus-money favorite, but he went from -400 odds then to -200 odds now.

Brees has completed a staggering 75.5 percent of his passes for 3,262 yards, 30 touchdowns and three interceptions this year.

Mahomes slipped behind Brees because of a five turnover performance against the Los Angeles Rams. However, a bye week and a four touchdown, turnover-free performance against the Oakland Raiders increased his odds from +250 to +145. The second-year QB has completed 66.9 percent of his passes for 3,923 yards, 41 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Nobody else is even close to those two, according to oddsmakers. Rams running back Todd Gurley and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers are tied for third with +2,000 odds. Also of note is Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who appeared on the list with +2,500 odds. He is the only defensive player on the board.
