Jalen Ramsey of the Jacksonville Jaguars has requested for a trade and a potent destination could be the San Francisco 49ers. With a good start this 2019-20 NFL season, adding one of the league's top cornerbacks to the team could help boost their bid for a playoff seat.

According to ESPN, the agent of Ramsey said last Monday that the 24-year-old cornerback wanted out of Jacksonville. The Jaguars are open to dealing the fifth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft but reportedly want at least one first-round pick and more. Several teams have allegedly held discussions and that a deal could be finalized within the week.

The trade request of Ramsey is a result of a sideline outburst last Sunday. The Jaguars lost to the Houston Texans and the two-time Pro Bowler yelled at coach Doug Marrone as he walked by. Players and coaches had to intervene and separate the two.

This was not the first time Ramsey's discontent with the team has spilled over. In his rookie year, Ramsey voiced displeasure on the way he was used. Together with Tashaun Gipson and Davon House, all complained about being limited and advocated for a clean sweep of the defensive coaching staff. As far as Ramsey is concerned, it looks like this has gotten out of hand.

One team that may want to step up and get Ramsey in San Francisco. They are off to a 2-0 start and seriously look like a team that will make the NFL playoffs. They do have a first-round pick in 2020 but NBC Sports point out how this potential player could be in the late teens at best.

If the 49ers want to progress, investing in someone who has far superior talent would be better. Ramsey has already shown his potential and is seen as someone who can improve further. San Francisco does already have Richard Sherman and Ahkello Witherspoon, both impressive early on this NFL season.

Looking deeper, Sherman is 32 while Witherspoon is trying to evolve. At some point, the 49ers will be looking for another cornerback. With the talent that Ramsey has, why wait when you can already get one who has proven himself and is arguably one of the rising CBs in the NFL?
