For Nick Viall, finding love wasn’t easy. He appeared on “The Bachelorette,” “Bachelor in Paradise” and “The Bachelor” before settling down with fiancée Vanessa Grimaldi.

Nick reflected on his difficult journey during Week 4 of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.” During an emotional package video he admitted that it would have been easy for him to shy away from true love. Still, Nick said meeting Vanessa in 2016 was worth the risk.

“It is kind of a blessing for me — looking back at 2016, [it] was kind of the year that I feel really paid off from just being willing to take risks and take chances and not give up on some things, even though at times, it would have been easy to walk away,” he recalled (via Us Weekly).

Nick and “DWTS” Season 24 partner Peta Murgatroyd worked “The Bachelor” star’s love story into their dance in Week 4. The remaining 10 pairs were tasked with creating dances to songs from the most memorable year of their lives. Nick and Peta — Team Baby Got Bach — wowed with a dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” which they included Vanessa in.

Footage from the dance emerged online ahead of Monday’s episode of “DWTS.” In the behind-the-scenes clip, obtained by TMZ, Nick and Peta nearly lock lips before he gets up, runs over and grabs Vanessa out of the audience. The pair lock lips for a steamy makeout that leaves no questions about the status of their relationship.

Vanessa has been present for all of Nick and Peta’s dances on “DWTS” so far. She’s also attended a good portion of her beau’s practices, helping him to nail down the moves. Still, fans have doubts about their relationship.

Those doubts were intensified when Nick revealed that he and Vanessa have not yet set a wedding date and won’t be any time soon. During an interview with ON With Mario Lopez (via Us), the former “Bachelor” said they’re focusing on getting to know each other better. Nick claimed it was simply too soon to start thinking about a wedding.

“We’re just kind of doing those normal couple things. We went back home to Milwaukee last week, my hometown, for just one day, which was nice, and just trying to take things slow,” he revealed.

For more Nick and Vanessa moments, tune in to “DWTS” Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
