KEY POINTS

  • Nokia 7.3 has yet to confirm four-camera composition
  • Nokia 7.3 could have 64 MP sensor
  • Nokia 7.3 launch could be delayed due to COVID-19

HMD Global is believed to be releasing a new camera later this year but it appears they have yet to decide on the built-in camera composition. To figure out what cameras the Nokia 7.3 will come out with, HMD is reportedly working with several prototypes to deliver the best device that will arouse the curiosity of mobile phone buyers.

According to Nokia Power User, one of the prototypes undergoing evaluation will be the Nokia 7.3. Among the striking features of the said handset will be a quartet of cameras that will have improved image quality captures and better Night Mode snapping.

One prototype reportedly has a 48 MP sensor, similar to the Nokia 7.2 which also had the same 48 MP main camera. Aside from that, there is reportedly also a 64 MP option. Regardless of which among the two, both will be behind a ZEISS glass.

As of this writing, the only thing known about the Nokia 7.3 is that it will have an ultrawide camera whose resolution and depth sensor have yet to be known, GSM Arena reported. The next Nokia device is believed to be coming with a macro module that could tote the same configuration as the Nokia 8.3 5G. That phone had a 64 MP, 12 MP and a couple of 2 MP camera setup.

Aware of the growing popularity of people taking selfies, HMD has not forgotten about the front-facing camera. The Nokia 7.3 will have an improved selfie-shooter, believed to be getting a boost to either a 24 MP or 32 MP camera. The previous one was a 20 MP sensor.

Finally, there are reportedly two Nokia 7.3 prototypes being tested. One will have 5G connectivity while the other will not. The SoC has yet to be known but some believe it will likely be a Snapdragon 765 chipset. The Nokia 7.2 model banked on an S660 chipset.

Originally, the Nokia 7.3 was scheduled for release either in August or September. It will debut alongside the Nokia 9.3, a phone that will have 5G capability. Other rumored specs of this device include a 108 MP main camera and a 120 Hz screen. But with the COVID-19 pandemic, the best to look forward to is an online launch with availability a big question mark.
