HMD Global may have already unveiled the flagship Nokia 8 Android smartphone last month, but that’s not the only high-end device that the company is going to release this year. Images of the Nokia 9 have leaked online and they show that the device will have a “bezel-less” design.

The photos of the Nokia 9 were first shared online by tech YouTuber Waqar Khan. The leaker says that he created the renders of the Nokia 9 based on all the available information on the phone thus far. These images are not official, but they give everyone an idea of what the next flagship Nokia Android smartphone will look like.

The Nokia 9 appears to have an edge-to-edge display with very thin top and bottom bezels. The exact size of the display wasn’t given, but it does appear to be a bit larger than the 5.3-inch display on the Nokia 8. Previous rumors claimed that it would have a 5.5-inch display. Speaking of the display, the one on the Nokia 9 is said to be an OLED panel, like the Galaxy Note 8 and the Apple iPhone X, according to Nokia Power User.

Like the Nokia 8, the Nokia 9 will have a pair of dual cameras on its back, and they are co-engineered by Zeiss Optics. A source claims that the Zeiss cameras on the Nokia 9 will be better than the Nokia 8 cameras even though they will still have 13-megapixel sensors.

The back of the Nokia 9 is designed very similarly to the Nokia 8 in terms of the curved edges. However, the similarities in design stops there. The Nokia 9’s fingerprint sensor will be located on the back just beneath the dual cameras. Perhaps HMD Global decided to do this since there’s no more room for the fingerprint sensor up front.

This design choice should be welcomed by consumers since it isn’t awkwardly placed like on the Samsung Galaxy S8 or Note 8. The placement of the fingerprint sensor on the back is very reminiscent of LG G6 and the LG V30.

As for internals, the Nokia 9 is expected to have 6GB or 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage with support for microSD card expansion, according to Phone Arena. There’s no word yet on what processor this device will have, but it will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

The Nokia 9 is also expected to be IP68 water and dust resistant, the same waterproof rating of the Galaxy Note 8 and the LG V30. It’s also been mentioned that the upcoming smartphone will have an iris scanner onboard and possibly even wireless charging since it will have a glass back.

The Nokia 9 might be announced sometime this month, but there’s a possibility that it could be pushed back to a Q4 2017 release. The Nokia 9 is said to cost EUR 749 in European markets, while it’s US price is tipped to be around $699.
