With plenty of mixed martial artists on the move, asking ONE Championship big boss Chatri Sityodtong about possibly land a big fish in the mix is only to be expected. And while he did admit that he is cooking up several more things for ONE FC, adding Conor McGregor is not one of them – at least for now.

“I’d rather not comment. Conor (McGregor) is going through a difficult time personally. I just wish him well. We are all human and we make mistakes,” said Sityodtong in a media scrum over at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Tokyo.

With the likes of Eddie Alvarez and Demetrious Johnson moving over to ONE Championship, mixed martial arts fans are expecting more big signings moving forward. And according to the ONE FC top brass, there have been a lot of global MMA stars expressing interest in ONE Championship although he did not get into detail.

“I would tell you that so many of the top global MMA superstars have already made inbound requests to ONE Championship. You will be shocked at how many names want to come. So I’ll just say that much,” said Sityodtong.

Could Georges St. Pierre be one of them? Instead of answering the question, Sityodtong responded in a different way although he said that anything can happen in the future.

“George and I, we see the world in the same way. We share the same values. I have so much love and respect for George. I was blown away by how kind he is, how genuine he is,” said Sityodtong.

“In the future, well anything can happen. I dunno. I’ll just say that George and I have a mutual love and respect for each other,” he added.
