KEY POINTS

  • Fans in the Axiata Arena this weekend will see two fights featuring hometown favorites
  • Keanu Subba takes on Yoon Chang Min in a featherweight bout
  • Former welterweight title contender Agilan Thani faces Ilja Stojanov

The spotlight of ONE Championship's third feature presentation on Amazon Prime Video this weekend may be on the grudge match between John Lineker and Fabricio Andrade, but two bouts following the live event's headliner are entrusted to pull the curtains down and send fans home.

ONE on Prime Video 3 is set to feature two matches exclusively for fans in attendance at the 16,000-capacity Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Saturday, October 22 (Friday, October 21 in the United States).

Hometown heroes Keanu Subba and Agilan Thani will don the signature Malaysian tri-color to go up against top-tier foreign opposition on the fight card.

Subba is slated to lock horns with South Korean standout Yoon Chang Min in a scheduled three-round featherweight encounter, while Thani battles a promotional newcomer and an undefeated welterweight from Germany in the form of Ilja Stojanov.

2022 has provided Subba an opportunity to embark on a career resurgence that saw him win two consecutive fights in exciting fashion.

Subba scored a unanimous decision victory over Demetrious Johnson's protege James Yang this past April before he authored a thunderous first-round knockout of former lightweight title challenger and then No. 5-ranked featherweight Amir Khan four months later.

In his post-fight interview immediately after his most recent exploit inside the ONE Championship cage, Subba took the opportunity to call out Yoon.

The organization apparently acceded to the request of Subba by having him face Yoon in his next outing.

Yoon has alternated between wins and losses for the past three years, including a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of future ONE featherweight champion Tang Kai in November 2021.

"The Big Heart" has sights on putting himself back on the winning track this Saturday, while Subba eyes to break into the Top Five of the featherweight rankings for the first time at the expense of his South Korean opponent.

Joining Subba in the lineup of exclusive in-stadium matchups at ONE on Prime Video 3 is Thani, a proud product of the Malaysian mixed martial arts (MMA) scene during its formative years.

Thai began his prizefighting stint as a promising prospect with an undefeated record before he transitioned into a grizzled veteran and welterweight staple who once shared the stage with the likes of Zebaztian Kadestam, Kiamrian Abbasov, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Yushin Okami and Tyler McGuire.

But unlike Subba, Thani is currently on the opposite side of the spectrum, dropping his last three assignments under the organization's banner.

Thani, who unsuccessfully vied for the ONE welterweight title against then-division kingpin Ben Askren in 2017, is expected to get his hands full again as he squares off with Stojanov.

Stojanov has been unbeaten throughout his career, amassing a remarkable record of 7-0-1 with four wins by way of submission and two via knockout.

Arresting his downward spiral is surely Thani's first order of business this weekend, whereas an impressive win in favor of Stojanov could shake up the welterweight division.
