OpenAI Loses Second Senior Executive This Week. Revenue Chief Denise Dresser Is Leaving.
Dresser, a former longtime Salesforce executive, is departing "to pursue other opportunities."

OpenAI is losing another top executive just as the artificial intelligence company prepares for a potentially massive stock market debut, adding fresh uncertainty to its leadership ranks during a critical period of expansion.
Chief Revenue Officer Denise Dresser is leaving OpenAI less than a year after joining the company, OpenAI said Thursday. Dresser, a former longtime Salesforce executive, is departing "to pursue other opportunities" and will be replaced by Dali Rajic, the former president and chief operating officer of cybersecurity company Wiz.
The departure is particularly notable because Dresser had been tasked with helping OpenAI accelerate its enterprise business, an increasingly important battleground as the ChatGPT maker competes with Anthropic and other AI companies for corporate customers.
"The opportunity to work hands-on with the most transformative technology in the world has been nothing short of incredible," Dresser wrote in a LinkedIn post announcing her exit. "I am so proud of what we have accomplished and, even more, of how this team has shown up for our customers and one another." Dresser's departure is the second major executive exit from OpenAI this week.
Brad Lightcap, an eight-year OpenAI veteran and longtime colleague of CEO Sam Altman, announced Tuesday that he was leaving to "start something new." Lightcap had played a central role in OpenAI's growth and global expansion before moving in April into a position focused on "special projects."
i shared the message below with the openai team this morning. these decisions are never easy, but the talent and mission orientation of the openai team make me more optimistic than ever. 🤍

Team, it is bittersweet to share that I’ll be moving on from OpenAI to start…
That transition had already expanded Dresser's responsibilities, with the revenue chief taking over many of Lightcap's duties. Her exit only months later means OpenAI is again reshuffling leadership across some of the business operations most important to its next phase.
Dresser joined OpenAI in December after spending more than a decade at Salesforce, where she developed the enterprise experience OpenAI was seeking as it pushed deeper into corporate America.
Enterprise customers accounted for roughly 40% of OpenAI's business at the beginning of 2026, Chief Financial Officer Sarah Friar told CNBC in January. The company was aiming to increase that share to nearly 50% by the end of the year. Dresser said in April that the enterprise operation remained "on track" to reach that target.
Her replacement, Rajic, arrives with experience scaling enterprise software businesses. Before Wiz, he spent more than a decade at Zscaler, including as president and chief operating officer.
The executive turnover extends beyond Dresser and Lightcap. Fidji Simo, who served as OpenAI's product and business chief, announced last month that she was stepping down to focus on her recovery following what she described as a "severe exacerbation of a chronic illness."
Today, I shared with the OpenAI team that I have decided to leave my full-time role at OpenAI and transition to being a part-time advisor.

Three months ago, I had to go on medical leave after a severe exacerbation of a chronic illness I’ve lived with for seven years. During that…
Three other executives left OpenAI in April. The timing makes the leadership changes especially significant. OpenAI confidentially filed its IPO paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission in June, setting the stage for one of the most closely watched public offerings in years.
