Orlando Bloom revealed that his dog Mighty has unfortunately died. The actor paid an emotional tribute to his dog on social media and also shared a video in which he can be seen showing off a new tattoo that he got in honor of his late pet that went missing a week before its demise.

Bloom’s new tattoo includes the name of the dog and also features an ace of spades symbol enclosed in a heart.

Taking it to Instagram, the 43-year-old actor wrote an endearing message for his dog, saying that Mighty is on the “other side” now. Bloom further stated that they found Mighty’s collar on the seventh day of searching for the pet, and they are now convinced that the dog has died.

The “Lord of The Rings” star also noted that he has never cried so much in his entire life than he has in the past seven days, and he said that it’s been really “cathartic” for him.

“Mighty’s on the other side now. After 7 days of searching from sunrise to sunset and into the wee hours, today, the 7th day – the number of completion – we found his collar. I have wept more this week than I thought possible, which has been very cathartic and healing,” Bloom wrote on Instagram.

The esteemed star also explained that he left no stone “unturned” in finding his beloved dog and even crawled through all the manholes to search for his pet. The “Pirates Of The Caribbean” actor was also grateful to Mighty for making him understand how love is “eternal.”

“I left no stone unturned, crawled thru all the manholes, under the roads, searched every back yard and creek bed. Had two separate sniffer dogs do their best as well. I feel so grateful to have learned from my little Mighty that love is eternal and the true meaning of devotion,” the actor added.

Bloom concluded the post by saying that Mighty was more than a “companion” since they were connected through their souls.

“I feel sure he was looking down on me whistling in every back yard and knowing that I was doing all I possibly could to respect our bond. He was more than a companion. It was a soul connection for sure. I’m sorry. Thank you. RIP my MIGHTY HEART my little fellow,” Bloom wrote.

Meanwhile, his girlfriend and singer Katy Perry also paid tribute to the dog, saying that Mighty will be “missed” by everyone.
