“Slumdog Millionaire” actress Freida Pinto has just been cast in “The Path” Season 3.

According to TV Line, Pinto will play the role of Vera in the hit Hulu series. Vera is a new publicist for the Meyerist movement, and she will develop a personal bond with Eddie (Aaron Paul). However, Vera’s beautiful appearance could mislead others into thinking that she’s honest and reliable. But the truth is, she could have her own secret agenda.

The same publication is speculating on the possibility of Vera and Sarah (Michelle Monaghan) going head to head in the upcoming episodes. After all, Sarah is known as an emotionally unstable character.

Meanwhile, the production for “The Path” Season 3 already kicked off earlier this week in New York. The 13 new episodes are scheduled for release sometime next year. Series creator Jessica Goldberg also serves as executive producer with True Jacks’ Jason Katims and Michelle Lee, according to Deadline.

“The Path” follows the life of one family at the center of a controversial movement struggling with issues such as a marriage, power and relationships. Each episode released by Hulu typically features an in-depth discussion and portrayal of what it means to choose between the life we want and the life we live.

In other news, Pinto previously starred in Showtime’s six-part drama, “Guerilla,” alongside Idris Elba. Her role as Jas Mitra earned her critical praises. “The Path” will only serve as the actress’ second series regular role on television. For the big screen, Pinto is set to star in “Jungle Book,” which is directed by Andy Serkis. “Jungle Book” is slated to hit theaters in the United States sometime next year.

Her other film credits include “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger,” “Miral,” “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” “Trishna,” “Black Gold,” “Immortals,” “Desert Dancer,” “Knight of Cups,” “Blunt Force Trauma,” “Love Sonia” and “Two Bellmen.” Pinto is repped by CAA and Principal/Gotham.

In 2009, she was nominated as best supporting actress at the BAFTA Film Awards for her role in “Slumdog Millionaire.” In the same year, the entire cast of the film won second place at the Central Ohio Film Critics Association.
