Dallas quarterback Tony Romo and wife Candice welcomed the couple's first child on Monday at Plano Presbyterian Hospital.

Hawkins Crawford Romo weighed in at eight pounds and eight ounces and the baby boy is reportedly in good health. The Dallas Cowboys Web site reported the news of the birth with a post congratulating Romo on Tuesday.

Candice, who uses her maiden name Crawford, is the sister of Gossip Girl, star Chace Crawford, as well as being a minor celebrity in her own right.

She placed third in the Miss Texas Teen USA Pagents in 2003 and 2005 and was the first runner up in the Miss Missouri USA 2007 pageant before finally winning as Miss USA Missouri in 2008. She placed sixth in the 2008 Miss USA contest.

She was also a local television personality who worked for KDAF, the CW affiliate for Dallas. She left that job shortly after their engagement to focus on planning her wedding. She and Romo were married in May of 2011, she announced she was pregnant in October.

In addition to her time with KDAF, Crawford has worked for the Columbia, Missouri NBC affiliate KOMU-TV as a reporter. She has also spent time as covering the Cowboys as reporter for CBS affiliate KTVT.

Romo's former girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, is expected to give birth to her first child with former NFL athlete Eric Johnson very soon.
