Paul Pogba heaped praises on his compatriot Raphael Varane, saying he brings in a lot of experience and everyone at Manchester United can learn from him.

The Red Devils signed the decorated central defender Varane from Real Madrid at a transfer fee of $56 million on a four-year contract. Varane was unveiled as a Manchester United player in front of a packed Old Trafford during their season opener against Leeds United, which the hosts won 5-1. Varane was an unused substitute during the Red Devils' trip to St. Mary's that ended in a 1-1 draw.

As Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side is preparing to head to West Midlands to take on Wolves this weekend, Varane is expected to make his first appearance for them.

Pogba and Varane are teammates at the France national team and now the duo is set to form a new partnership with Manchester United.

Ahead of the Wolves fixture, Pogba was asked if he has helped his French teammate settle down in Old Trafford.

"I think he doesn’t need me to settle in. He just settles in by himself. He is someone very mature, a very good guy. I think you can see he is very good with everyone already. He is really good in the changing room, which is very important in football. He’s a top man, a top player and brings his experience, his quality and his personality, even outside the pitch, to help the team," Pogba told Manchester United's official website.

Varane, who spent a decade at Real Madrid, certainly brings rich experience and record to Old Trafford. The 28-year-old center-back won as many as four Champions League trophies and helped the Madrid side win three La Liga titles after joining them from Lens in 2011.

Along with Varane, Pogba also played a crucial role in France's win in the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.

While there has been a curiosity to see how Varane will fare for Manchester United, Pogba believes the defender is one of the assets of the side.

"[What does he bring?] His experience, [It's] his experience, you know. For a young age, he’s seen it all. He has a lot of experience to give to the team. I think everyone can learn from him. He’s been with the best and played with the best. He saw all the top players and can give his advice, his personality and his experience to the team, like I said.," added Pogba, who has already assisted four times for Manchester United in the 2021-22 Premier League.

Pogba's four assists came in the Red Devils' 5-1 win over Leeds before he assisted Mason Greenwood's equalizer in a 1-1 draw with Southampton.

As Manchester United did not win a single trophy last season, they made two high-profile signings in the 2021 summer market. Along with Varane, the Red Devils finally secured their long-term target, Jadon Sancho, from Borussia Dortmund.
